I'm Ingrid.
Profile
Hi, I'm Ingrid, an incoming medical student and freelance designer. Passionate about tackling healthcare disparities, healthcare delivery, and social determinants of health. A strong believer in community-partnership, cultural humility, racial and ethnic minority representation in research/medicine, social justice, and dispelling the “model minority” myth. I aspire to pursue healthcare and research, uplifting the voices of marginalized groups, and have a penchant for design.
Growing up tinkering on my photographer father's photoshop, stumbling on brush sets online, and self-taught, design became my creative outlet throughout school and beyond, and I have been lucky to be commissioned for this work. I appreciate the intersections between art and science, and value using art as a medium of expression and connecting our humanity together. As a strong believer in community engagement and outreach, especially for those most difficult to reach, I hope to incorporate this passion into health education and communication.
Experience
My experiences include design for various small businesses and student organizations on campus from college and high school, designing marketing materials, shirt designs, branding, and digital doodles. Past experiences also include designing for research labs on campus, creating interventional infographics, recruitment flyers, and resource booklets. I also served as a graphic designer for a research journal designing the journal's layout for publication. Freelance work includes commissions for start-up fashion line, logo and branding for small businesses, and website for a private practice.

Always grateful for the places that design has taken me, I love to teach others, and I have been contracted in the past to teach graphic design. I also host workshops about basic design, skills, and programs as well! Past workshops hosted have been for student volunteer and business organizations, labs, and for high schoolers.
Skills
Experiences include branding, visual identities, marketing and promotional material creation, t-shirt designs, editorial design, and basic digital doodling.
